I haven’t blogged in a while, but I’m back.
I’m sure you all have heard about the book that’s capturing readers’ (of all ages) hearts and taking the world by storm:
The Fault in our Stars by John Green is a love story like no other. It isn’t just an average boy meets girl tale, and there are no supernatural creatures chasing after the protagonists.
Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters truly are star-crossed lovers, but it isn’t a family feud or other man-made cause affecting their lives together. They met in support group. Cancer support group. And from that point on the two were on a “roller coaster that only went up”, as Augustus would say.
It’s hard to put this book into words. It’s packed full of meaning, laughter, tears, love, and loss. There’s a reason this story has become as big of a hit as it has. It’s moving and captivating. It’s a tear-jerker as well. But I think it also makes people take a step back and look at life, put things into perspective, and realize that although “pain demands to be felt”, if you let love and happiness in it can be a good life.
So I strongly suggest that if you haven’t yet read The Fault in our Stars, that you read it soon. It truly is an amazing novel, and I think its Green’s best work yet. He told the story beautifully; his words and characters he created definitely stole my heart.
The movie is also a great representation of the book, so I recommend that as well.
